Ayurveda is the name given to the ancient Indian science of life. It is said to have Originated more than 4000 yrs ago, and believed to be the oldest health system known today. Rather than treating symptoms, it treats the whole person. It is designed to benefit the client on an emotional, psychological and medical level. Massage is an important part of Ayurvedic therapy, but rather than concentrating on western techniques that manipulate body contour, it works on marma (vital) points, opening up energy channels which are believed to cause an imbalance or blockage.

Shirobhyanga
Ayurvda’s head, neck and shoulder massage

A detoxifying upper body massage that has been used in India for years as ‘home’ therapy. massage is relaxing and focuses on marma points, and leaves the head, neck and shoulder are rejuvenated. It also nourished the scalp using individualised Ayurvedic oils.
Good for : stress, strain, migraines, hair condition

Shirodhara
Third Eye Drip

Warm oils are gently poured in a slow dynamic movement over the forehead marma(third eye) in a continuous flow from special vessel for about thirty min. Profoundly relaxing, this treatment works to switch off a chattering mind and induce deep rest for renewed energy and calm that borders meditation. A holistic marma point facial massage precedes the Shirodhara.
Good for: sheer bliss and relaxation, chronic colds, sinusitis, insomnia, anxiety, tension and stress.

Abhyanga Snanam

Same as Abhyanga but this treatment includes steaming the body with hot towels and cleansing with a traditional bath powder, therefore nourishes the body with therapeutic properties in the natural oils and herbs.

Mukhabhyanga
Ayurveda’s Facial Massage

A detoxifying treatment that is customised to each individual’s dosha and utilises natural Ayurvedic oils formulated from wild grown herbs, and botanical extract and herbal preparations to deeply cleanse, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. It includes a thirty minute marma point massage to relax and relieve stress lines..

Abhyanga
Full Body Massage

An ancient oleation therapy, traditionally given, using flowing strokes according to the circulatory system, and pressure to marma points for 75 minutes. Detoxifying Ayurvedic oils are chosen according to one’s dasha.
Good for: relaxation, detoxification, skin complaints, fatigue, anxiety and eczema.

Pinda Sweda Herbal Powder Bolus Massage

Therapeutic herbal plants are tied in muslin cloth and made into a bundle (bolus). After warming the oil is applied to the body with the bolus using an Ayurvedic technique called pummelling. The therapy not only rejuvenates, nourishes and strengthens, but it is also great for sport enthusiast as it addresses pains related to the joints and sore muscles. The treatment is traditionally followed by exfoliations.

Padbhyanga
Foot and Leg Massage

A highly relaxing treatment where individualised oils are massaged into the lower leg and feet using Ayurvedic deep pressure techniques. Focusing on marma points of the sole. Padbhyanga also harmonises the body by releasing blocked energy.
Good for: blood circulation, reduces swelling, ‘dead’ leg, before or after a flight.

Hydradermie Treatments

History

L’Institut Guinot – Paris was founded by French biochemist Rene Guinot, who introduced a revolutionary professional skincare treatment – Cathiodermie – in the 1960s. It was the first facial to use mild galvanic and high frequency currents to deep cleanse, ionise and oxygenate the skin. For the past 30 years, under the ownership of Jean Daniel Mondin, a doctor of pharmacology, the company has been at the forefront of advances in the beauty industry. Guinot was one of the first professional skincare companies to include the ‘cellular life complex’ in its skincare products. This complex of 56 vitamins, proteins and amino acids was developed in a hospital burns unit to help repair skin.
